Transforming food security into a donor movement.
Aquaponic Farms: An Oasis of Opportunities
CoimpactoB Foundation · 2025–Present
Some of the most urgent social and environmental challenges are also the hardest to communicate.
In northern Colombia, extreme desert conditions make traditional agriculture nearly impossible for many Indigenous communities. The challenge was not only to raise funds for an aquaponic farm, but to communicate a complex food security solution in a way that international audiences could immediately understand, connect with and support.

Approach
I developed the campaign narrative, communications strategy and donor journey, transforming a technical sustainability project into a simple and tangible proposition: donate square metres that help grow food, education and opportunity.
Working alongside designers, web developers, community leaders and external partners, I led the creation of a bilingual communications ecosystem that included a campaign website, videos, social media assets, donor materials and partnership outreach resources.
The campaign was built around a human-centred storytelling approach, helping audiences understand not only how aquaponics works, but why it matters for the communities involved and the future they are building.
Impact
$12,000 USD raised during the first crowdfunding milestone
47 direct beneficiaries including students and families
7 training sessions delivered through the first farm
400 tilapia fish cultivated
1,000+ low-growing plants produced annually
400,000 litres of water saved every year
The campaign continues to evolve. A second phase is currently underway to support the development of additional aquaponic farms across new Indigenous communities in northern Colombia.
